Hotels

Professional Attendees and Exhibitors:
WE12 attendees can stay at several hotels that are within a short distance of the George R. Brown Convention Center. SWE has secured the lowest possible price for our conference. Please support SWE and book in these hotels to ensure you receive the group rate. SWE has also arranged a small number of government-rated rooms, which are sold on a first come, first served basis.

All hotels are walkable, between 0.1 and 7 blocks. In addition to the brand new Houston Greenlink shuttle service, SWE will be providing shuttle to all Downtown hotels that are over 1 block walking distance, and where SWE has a block – Magnolia Hotel, Marriott Courtyard, Residence Inn, Doubletree Suites, Hyatt Regency Houston, Hotel Icon and Alden.  Shuttles will be provided for evening events in addition to daytime events.  In addition, we are looking into transportation to the medical center area – please contact conferencemanager@swe.org for details.

Airports

George R. Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is located approximately 30-35 minutes from George R. Brown Convention Center, and the William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is located approximately 20-25 minutes away. Additional information is available at fly2houston.com.

Transportation from the Airports

Taxi fares from IAH range from $45-$60, and fares from HOU range from $28-35.

GO Airport Express provides shared ride services to all downtown/suburban hotels and many businesses. Pair fares and group discounts are available along with customized reservation portals for your groups.

SuperShuttle Discount:
As an alternative to taxi transportation, SWE has arranged a special discount through SuperShuttle on IAH and HOU airport transfers. Please use the group discount code 8DXMN (valid for travel November 1 – 20, 2012).

Shuttles

A WE12 shuttle will not be necessary, as the entire SWE hotel block is located one block from the George R. Brown Convention Center. All tours will include bus transportation, but if you have any special transportation or accessibility needs, please contact conferencemanager@swe.org.
